I Love the Movies

The plight of Gotham makes me forget the quibbly travails of my own chugging along life.

A Strange Dream...

I woke up fitfully from a post-Bastille day drinking bout.

My dreams were about:

a film festival devoted to polar bears.
my mom taking on secretarial work for my old boss - typing up his scandalous memoirs

Cycle

Once you settle into a pattern where things happen just as you expect, it's such a relief to be shocked, jolted into surprise.

I did some errands in the improbably beautiful sunshine today (again, sans iPod)! The sidewalks were sun-dappled, the tops of my feet grew warm.

I felt brimming over with excitement for the years ahead. On my desk at work, I have a three year calendar. So strange to see the days marked out so plainly. When those three years are all x-ed out, I'll be almost 28 years old.

Strange Reminders of Korea

I often associate seasons with different places.
The chill of an autumn morning reminds me of my daily walk to classes in Lyon.
Summer storms remind me of the torrential downpours and perpetual sweatiness of Chuncheon.

This summer, I find myself missing things about Korea.

DVD bangs - the leather couches, the BYOB policies, and oh yeah, DVDs!
Bumooly's mogi-yak - instant relief from my enemy the mosquito
Birth control available without a prescription - needs no explanation
