slogging

not to be confused with snogging.

i just looked up slogging to check what the etymology could possibly be, but it's unknown. it sounds very ye olde english though! same for snogging, which is why the only time i've seen it recently is in harry potter books.

re: slogging - i'm slogging through these online tutorials for work, and they are really irritating because it's not just one continuous thing; it's divided up into about 58 short sections. but it is kind of a dark sickly pleasure to be learning so much about office.

just to remind myself i'm not entirely hating this slog.

oh yeah and today i went to home depot by myself and it was so fun. i don't know whether it's trying to emulate my mom that makes me such a wannabe handywoman or we are both innately handywomen. anyway, home depot is the place to be!

oh, andy m

where m stands for...

yeah so anyway, i just came back from virginia beach/norfolk/new york and i'm back home watching the andy milonakis show. there are some beans/magic beans involved.

virginia beach = haunted house, JCC, fantastic radio with dana, sand dunes and dolphins...

andy just opened the mailbox of a dollhouse and there was strawberry jam inside. you know how i feel about strawberry jam. mmmm...

i've been having lots of fun this summer, and i need to move into the apartment soon! now that it has a nice new bathmat and glasses, who could resist? but i'd really like to be doing something in NY for the time that i'm there. so i was looking on craigslist (addiction 1 of 2 that i will be addressing today) and found some interesting opportunities...part-time bookstore clerk, cellist in an indie band...woo! so i'll semi-investigate those.

addiction 2 is the parachute game on my iPod.

also watched the aristocrats tonight :^D

so

here i am at home once again. these past few weekends i've spent in NY at my boys' (and my future) apartment; typical bright eyed debauchery, and exactly what i've been craving after korea. i love the overpriced things and the unmistakable smell that never leaves you. i miss the public preening and fawning. i love the names they give smoothies (despite the jeonju 1,000 won smoothie bonanza, it is way more fun to order a pomegranate mango squeeze than "ddalgi jusehyo." yes?

we watched a concert with 2/3 bens and a rufus on thursday night, which was so un-buggy and so cute! it's crazy that hanseul and i saw ben folds when we were sophomores in HS or whatever. today, i also saw someone that i hadn't seen since that period of time, and that kind of thing these days is really highlighting to me that i am Older than i was back then!

i got that haircut i wanted! it's perfect :^)

i watched parts of ANTM 2nd season tonight for basically the first time, and i found this while googling my favorite contestant! one thing leads to another...

basically...

today is the day i'm trying to boost my ego. because i still look so fat in my bridesmaid's dress. why is it that this dress fits me in precisely such a way that i look fat in ways i've never thought i've looked fat before? you will just have to guess what these ways are, unless i see you at the wedding :^P

anyway - i'm going to be in a diet-unfriendly environment going on a roadtrip with dana and then moving into the boys' apartment. but at least i have a set date that i'm working towards. and after all, it's not like i have anything else to do with my life for the next month besides improve myself in every way! so why don't i do it?

i just figured out how to do lots of things on my iPod that made me very happy :^) and i just bought it this cute case to reward it for making me so happy...it's red, to match my planner! and soon new earphones too, because that is way more urgent. the earphones that came with it are totally falling apart and i had to scotch tape the rubber casing together at the place where the wires split.

this is the most boring post ever!!

me, practicing the hairstyle i thought would look good on me, but really just elongated my already long face. at my old host family's house.

"we love these garlands. LOVE THEM!" in chiang mai.

"this isn't soap! this is ROCKS!!!!"
