Yam <> Sweet Potato
Yams are so different from sweet potatoes. I don't know how people can think they're so similar. The only reason I make a point of it is that sweet potatoes are far more delicious than yams. Luckily they're both on my diet.

i concur, try frying them.. totally different.. not on my diet, but i hated thanksgivings where my question of whats yams (this was way back when in scrap boxes times) was responded to with "you know just like sweet potatoes".. anyway, happy new year! :)
